Her photography and installations have received honors such as the Julia Margaret Cameron Gala Award, the Budapest International Foto Awards (BIFA), and additional fellowships recognizing her conceptual voice and exploration of self‑portraiture. Works are held in notable private and institutional collections around the world. Lara’s practice engages with materials as metaphors,  from broken porcelain and mirrors to tiled iron and stone, to investigate rupture, reflection, repair, and visibility. Across media, her work invites reflection on the fragile architectures that shape our inner lives and the generative possibilities of repair, care, and self‑holding. 

“In this body of work, broken porcelain becomes a language for memory, rupture, and transformation. Once symbols of domestic life, the plates are shattered and reassembled with gold, allowing their fractures to remain visible rather than concealed. The work considers breaking not as an ending, but as a moment of becoming. Inspired by the philosophy of kintsugi, I use the broken object as a metaphor for the human experience, how we carry our histories, losses, and imperfections with us, and how what has been fractured can return in a different form. The gold does not erase the break. It honors it.”
